A purpose-built learning environment

Styles Street’s Core Purpose is to provide purposefully designed early learning environments where, in partnership with families, each child can reach their full potential. In pursuit of this vision, we have engaged an experienced landscape architect to help us develop concepts for the outdoor spaces at the centre.

LSA Design presented some exciting concepts to staff and committee representatives in late September 2015.

The plans involve a 5 year series of projects some of which will be contracted out but most of which we hope we can do with you and other volunteers from the Styles Street families.

By developing a long term vision and plans for the centre we hope to put ourselves in a good position to apply for grants and other forms of funding.

We rely on volunteers to keep our fees low

We know that amongst our community we have expertise in many areas to do with grant applications, architecture, landscaping, gardening and project management so 2016 is a great time to put your hand up and get involved.

What can I do to help?

  • Volunteer your expertise – or good old energy and enthusiasm – for specific aspects of the project
  • Think about how your profession or organisation could contribute to the project
  • Attend work bees (most bees in 2016 will contribute to this project in some way)
  • If you are up for contributing to decision-making and planning as well as some hard yakka you might consider joining the committee.

The project is currently in the consultation phase in our process for major projects.

Give us your feedback

If you have any feedback, are interested in learning more or want to get involved please add your comment below, contact The Director at the centre or email the committee directly.

I hope you feel as inspired as we do about this long term project.
Look forward to working with you on this.

Best wishes,

Martin
President, Committee of Management
