We’d like to welcome back the returning children to the Wombat’s room and of course a very big welcome to our new children and their families. The year has begun really well with the all children making the transition to this new environment particularly well. There have been some tears along the way (not just from the children!) but we can assure you that this is normal as the children develop trusting relationships with their educators.
The focus and our goal in the first couple of months is developing strong relationships with the children and their families. Research shows that ‘young children experience their world as an environment of relationships, and these relationships affect virtually all aspects of their development’ (NACDC, 2004). When toddlers form trusting relationships with adults this allows them to explore their world from a safe base. It allows them to learn about who they are, what they like and what they can do!
To promote a sense of belonging could you please send in or email a baby and family of the children. Thank you
